Hi, hello, and welcome to my blog. It’s a lot like other blogs but rather than spending most of my time posting on one specific topic I make things more chaotic by posting about everything – though mainly Movies, Music, TV. If you like what you see, feel free to comment, subscribe, and suggest more ideas.
Below is a description of what is contained in each of the main categories on the site. I’ve also included links to some of my more popular series.
A-Z Reviews: This category is a single post with links to all my movie, music, and book reviews. It’s the best place to start and you can check it via THIS LINK.
Amazon Vine: I’m a member of Amazon Vine, a program where Amazon’s best (apparently) reviewers are provided with free products for reviewing purposes in order to drum up publicity before the product is released to the general public. You can find links to the Products I have received here.
Book Reviews: I’ve been a voracious reader from an early age (people thought it strange that I was reading Homer’s Odyssey around the age of 7 or 8). I studied English Literature at University and would like to publish something one day, but I’m fairly lazy. This section contains my reviews of books and although there aren’t many of those currently, I hope to go back and give brief reviews of my favourites.
Buffy Reviews: Buffy The Vampire Slayer is my favourite TV show of all time. Here I pick my favourite episodes from each Season.
Changing The Past: I’ve said I’m lazy, but it’s more accurate to say I spend more time thinking about doing things than actually doing them. In this section I dream about righting the wrongs of the past with regards to The Oscars. Basically, I have gone back to 1960, watched as many movies as I can from each year, and I select what I think should have been the winner from all of the major categories. More interestingly I provide my own personal list of nominations from each year and category.
DVD Reviews: When I was at University I started posting movie reviews on IMDB, and then copied those over to Amazon with a few additional pieces concerning any DVD special features. Now that I’ve started this blog I have again copied those old reviews and am continuing to write new ones. My earliest, clearest movie memories are of cheesy 80s action and martial arts movies centered around masterpieces by Bruce Lee and Arnie, but I had always been intrigued by horror. Nowadays horror, action, comedy, and foreign (non-US and UK) movies are my favourites, but I’ll generally watch anything.
Essential Movies: Every movie blog has an essential movies section, whether it be the blogger’s personal choices based purely on preference or taking a deeper, more critical view. I’ve done things a little differently and have looked at what could be considered essential based on a generic categorization of viewer types – basically what one person deems essential another may see as pointless. I’m going through each year, starting from 1960, and giving my thoughts on a bunch of movies and asking if they can truly be considered essential, while also providing an alternative Desert Island Discs style opinion. Read the central discussion here.
Funny Me Do: Some of my favourite jokes from Classic Channel 4 Teletext page Digitiser. Check out the new site from the genius behind Digitiser here! http://www.digitiser2000.com/
Lists: Lists of favourite songs, movies, performances et and cetera.
Manics Song By Song: The Manic Street Preachers are a rock band from Wales, and one of the most important British bands of all time. If you don’t know anything about them, check them out; They deserve to have a movie made about them, such is their interesting story. They are one of my favourite bands of all time, and here I give very short thoughts on every song they’ve ever recorded.
Music Reviews: I’ve been in bands. I’ve written songs. I’ve recorded songs. But this section is for my reviews of albums, my thoughts on Chart Music through the years, concert reviews, my first time listens and thoughts of the Top 1000 Albums Of All Time, and other assorted musical intrigue. Michael Jackson and The Bangles were my first musical loves, then I heard Guns’n’Roses and Nirvana which launched me down the road into rock and metal. I’d rank the four artists above as some of the most important in my life, along with Alice Cooper, Manic Street Preachers, Radiohead…
Nightman’s Favourite Films By Year: Most movie bloggers provides lists of their favourite films. These are mine, by year, starting with 1950. My picks are not a sign of quality by any means, simply my personal favourites. Read more here.
Spac Poetry: If you’re unfortunate enough to find me on Youtube, then you’ll be subjected to some rather experimental music. Their lyrics are captured here. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmMAa984PlAM0iwBDRJ3oaA)
The Delusions: This section was originally created for random musings, short fiction, and things that I wish were different in the world. However, nothing happens in here, because it all happens somewhere else.
The Shrine: Here I give brief eulogies on people, actors, singers, people who have had an impact on my life, and invite you to share your memories of them too.
The Spac Hole: Assorted pieces, from favourite lyrics, to funny google translations of famous songs, and more (less).
The Spac Reviews: I’m rather an odd chap so I sometimes enjoy writing entirely false reviews of movies, taking on the persona of an idiot (which isn’t very difficult for me). Maybe you’ll find them funny. Most likely you’ll find them annoying.
TV Reviews: Ahh TV, where would we be without ye? This section contains my reviews of TV shows, past and present with splashings of nostalgia.
Video Games: Reviews of retro (mostly) games, with very rare comments on the modern scene.
Walk Of Fame: An imagined land containing monuments erected in honour to those I feel deserve to have their own star on my Walk Of Fame. It’s like that one in Hollywood, but better.
Here are a few links to give you the gist of my jib.

Translation: Here you will find many strange delights, mostly related to music, movies, TV, books, and possibly games if I have the time.
I really like the variety of content on your blog.
Thanks, I’d get bored if I wrote about the same stuff all the time!
That’s so true. Are you a Bond fan? Because quite a bit of my content relates to 007.
Yes, I see you will be writing about the evolution of the Bond Girl for Maddy’s blogathon – I’ll be writing about Bond Girls too, but from a less scholarly perspective…
Cool. I very much look forward to reading your entry.
Agreed! And wow, lots for me to read through! Can’t wait…
Well, it’s all a bit of a mess, I need to categorize things better 🙂
Don’t worry – I always feel that the posts I’m meant to read I’ll find either way. Just like books and music find me, so the right posts will find me too 😉
Leave it as it works for you – that’s who you are after all!
