Greetings, Glancers! We continue my new series of posts which will detail my favourite films of every year since 1950. Why 1950? Why 10? Why anything? Check out my original post here. As with most of these lists the numbering doesn’t really matter much, though in most cases the Number 1 will be my clear favourite. As I know there are plenty of Stats Nerds out there, I’ll add in some bonus crap at the bottom but the main purpose of these posts is to keep things short. So!

Oldboy I think should be much higher on the list and personally I find Return of the King’s “ending” takes me out of the film and X2 doesn’t really hold up (plus giving Bryan Singer credit nowadays feels off). The Dreamers I couldn’t get into and Underworld is an interesting choice, but I think everything else is a good choice.
I’m giving this lists more on nostalgia and personal feelings than quality – definitely Oldboy would be higher otherwise. I agree with the drawn out Return Of The King but it’s one of the few trilogies which feels like it has a satisfying finish to me, I think X2 was one of the first comic films to really be taken seriously and with passion (but yes, all the stuf f with Singer gives it a bad taste now). The Dreamers…well, I love Bertolucci, Eva Green, and Pitt

Thanks. Yeah, it didn’t get huge coverage over here but it did get some which is something I suppose. I’ll be doing my ‘Those We Lost’ post at some point before the end of the year, and sadly he’ll be on it.
