Broken Up Again

Generic Ratings: 1: Crap. 2: Ok. 3: Good. 4: Great

Opening with a rhythmic, steady blast of (Motown inspired?) drums this B-side to Some Kind Of Nothingness unravels piece by piece with a very average verse breaking into a very strong chorus/pre-chorus. There are good performances all around and it is good to hear some heavier guitar work from James after the more acoustic and stripped back nature of most of what appears on Rewind The Film. This does come off like just another B-Side along with the many others they have written, but it’s a pretty good song in its own right. When I first wrote this post I found a video for the song, but since that point it has vanished, so click below for a personalized message from the band!

Great post 🙂 I love it that you include an image from the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers 🙂 I am not sure If it is still up on youtube, but I watched an old moviedrome intro of Alex Cox introducing this film and his intro was insightful and witty as always. Speaking of which, I watched that Mark Kermode interview with Cox talking about his book and it was so great I wished they talked more. I also love the one he gave with Mark Cousins a while or a year ago. Cousins, Cox and Kermode are always great to listen to 🙂 Anyway, keep up the great work as always 🙂

I love all the Bodysnatchermovies, something about the whole idea has always resonated with me.

Tell it like it is!
