Another single from the first album, and maybe the most catchy. It’s a fast-paced punk song that sounds light-hearted and warm from a musical perspective, all bouncy chords and jingling piano, but lyrically it’s another song which acts as both a band statement (we’re a mess of eyeliner and spray paint), an attack on culture’s obsession with bands which of course the band themselves are willingly guilty of, all while poking at fans but encouraging them to fill in the blank of ‘why don’t you just f-‘. The song was originally entitled Generation Terrorists but when the band wanted to release it as a single they knew they would need to make some cuts and the ‘fuck off’ was replaced by a guitar screech which is all the more potent.
